LM28 – Primary Aluminium Alloy Foundry Ingots
This alloy conforms to BS 1490:1988. It contains Silicon (17-20), Copper (1.3-1.8), Nickel (0.8 – 1.5) and Magnesium (0.8 – 1.5). This alloy requires special foundry techniques.
- Properties: Corrosion resistance, low coefficient of thermal expansion and high resistance to wear
- Suitable for: Pistons for high performance internal combustion engines
